Mad Dog Graphx Wins Honors
Anchorage, AK – Mad Dog Graphx recently won six honors from the 16th Annual Communicator Awards, a leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. In addition, Mad Dog won four honors from the 2010 Davey Awards, an international competition recognizing outstanding graphic design from small firms who rely on big ideas instead of big budgets.
Mad Dog Graphx won gold honors for two annual reports created for Food Bank of Alaska and The Alaska Community Foundation (ACF), for a promotional piece designed for Alaska Stock Images, and for a letterhead package for ACF. Additionally, a logo for Alaska Primary Care Association won a silver award, and the Alaska Stock piece also won silver in the direct mail category.
Mad Dog Graphx won Davey Awards for recent logo designs for Vitus Marine, a marine fueling company serving Western Alaska; Core Pilates, a new Anchorage fitness studio; and Alaskan Built, a program recognizing local talent in construction. In addition, Mad Dog won for an annual report produced for ACF.
The logo for Core Pilates was also recently selected for inclusion in the Rockport Publishers’ book, “Letterhead + Logo Design 12.” The Vitus Marine logo was chosen for publication in “TrademarksUSA 2010,” the next book by David E. Carter, best-selling author of more than 110 books about graphic design.
Several other Mad Dog projects have appeared this year in books devoted to graphic design, including “The Big Book of Green Design,” “Creativity 40,” and the first two books of the new LogoLounge Master Library series, “Initials & Crests” and “Animals & Mythology.”
