As part of our 20th anniversary celebration, Mad Dog produced a booklet showcasing 20 client logos we’ve created over the last two decades.
The idea for the booklet began as a way to say “thank you” to the many, many clients who have trusted Mad Dog to help create a visual identity for their brand. Then we thought it might be something others would be interested in, and a nice way to acknowledge all the designers, vendors, friends, family, and clients who have supported Mad Dog over the years.
This booklet is a project that Mad Dog had been discussing for years; our 20th anniversary seemed the perfect time to finally make it happen.
Mad Dog debated every production detail – choosing papers for their tone and texture, and printing and binding techniques that ensured the booklet would have a keepsake quality.
We selected 20 of our favorite logo creations from the archives – work we felt stood the test of time, or offered a glimpse of our aesthetic. Our choices skewed toward more recent work; I think we all appreciate the perspective experience can bring to a project. We wrote design briefs, and reworked the logos to work in two colors.
We decided to create a small, 48-page, perfect-bound book – a miniature coffee-table book, really. We choose Via Cool White 100# Smooth Text for the interior pages, and Neenah Environment 120# DTC in Concrete for the covers. Interiors were printed in two metallic Pantone inks, and covers were blind embossed and debossed. We finished a limited edition run of 500.
The books were mailed out as part of our 20th anniversary festivities, and now we are moving on to celebrating our 21st year. If you would like a copy of Mad Dog’s logo booklet for yourself, just drop us a line.
