Faces of Justice (2002–03)
DESCRIPTION
UYCA works with communities to train youth and adult volunteers in providing proactive youth-led adjudication for youth offenders. When youth offenders are presented with a chance to take responsibility for their actions, they receive more than a sanction to fulfill; they get an opportunity to build their community and learn important social competencies. And the program is successful; the recidivism rate for youth offenders who did not participate in youth court was twelve times higher than for those youths who did.
This annual needed to appeal to both youth volunteers and adult donors and supporters. Mad Dog printed the annual in two highly saturated match inks (including a custom-mixed fluorescent orange,) and used a halftone effect familiar from comic books and comic strips to make the annual more approachable.
