DESCRIPTION
Identity, Inc. is a statewide non-profit established in 1977, whose core mission is to advance Alaska’s LGBT community through advocacy, education, and connectivity. In addition to maintaining a community center, Identity coordinates services, groups, and training geared toward inclusion, advocacy, and youth programs – including an annual Youth Leadership Summit, Pride Conference, and the Alaska PrideFest celebration.
Champions for Change is Identity’s branded community giving program, which is an integral part of the organization’s existence. Champions for Change provides Identity with a flexible system to help connect community members with causes and programs they believe in and support.
The mark utilizes the two ‘c’ letterforms representing the name, and includes a heart and an equal sign, visually representing the organization’s goal of attaining equality through education and advocacy. The program’s emphasis on supporters (champions) and action (change) is a powerful reinforcement of the organization’s mission and a reminder of its reliance on community support to continue their work.
