DESCRIPTION

Since its founding in 2005, Anchorage Project Access has worked tirelessly to bring health care access to Anchorage’s low-income uninsured. With ongoing changes to national health care policies, Medicaid, and personal insurance programs over the last few years, APA has had to adapt the services it offers on more than one occasion.

But instead of falling victim to the push and pull of political tides, APA has continued to serve its core clients, increase the size of its network of volunteer medical specialists, expand its community outreach programs, and add a growing number of dental practices to its already impressive list of health care providers.

This year’s annual report presents some of APA’s success stories from 2017, and includes quotes and stories from the patients themselves, recounting the many ways APA helped them through challenging and painful setbacks.
